Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting interested in helping
to enrich the current program and making connections for students with professional accounting communities.

Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load that focuses on courses in the accounting major but also includes courses in the undergraduate and graduate business curriculum; academic advising; curriculum development; committee work; and service to the college.

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in a business-related field and a CPA. For a non-tenure-track position and the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice, the candidate would need either three years of college teaching experience or three years of full-time experience in the field, and would not need a doctoral degree. For a tenure-track position and the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, the candidate must have a doctoral degree (rank is Instructor for ABD and less than three years of college teaching experience). Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in higher education and a record of successful accounting work experience.
